Battery & Charging

Fast-Charging Protocol:

The ASMOKE Essential supports PD3.0 and PD3.1 fast-charging protocols only.

Battery Runtime:

Under low-temperature slow cooking at 110°C (230°F), the battery lasts approximately 8 to 10 hours.

Extended Runtime & Maintenance:

Use a compliant charger or the DC adapter to charge the battery while grilling for unlimited runtime.

After each use, remove the battery and charge it before storage to extend service life.

If using a DC adapter or charger while grilling, battery removal is unnecessary.

Pellet Compatibility

The ASMOKE Essential is compatible with pellets from other brands. Temperature fluctuations at low settings are normal during pellet recognition—allow 10–20 minutes for calibration. If the temperature drops, restart the ignition for stable control. For best results, use 100% pure additive-free pellets.

App Connectivity

The app controls the grill through a network connection. Ensure your router supports the 2.4GHz band and keep the grill close to the router for a stable signal. If grilling outdoors far from the router, using a mobile hotspot is a good alternative.

Overheating Prevention

To prevent overheating:

Avoid manually adding pellets to the burn pot.

Use ASMOKE pellets or install the gasket when using mixed wood pellets.

Do not terminate the ignition process before full ignition and restart.

Open the grill lid to reduce temperature if it exceeds the target.

First-Time Use Instructions

Burn-Off:

Before your first cooking session, burn off the grill. Start the grill and operate it at high temperatures (above 200°C / 392°F) with the lid closed for 30 to 40 minutes to remove any foreign objects. Preheat the grill before each cooking session with the lid closed to kill bacteria and pathogens from previous use.

Initial Ignition (when hopper and feed tube are depleted):

1.               Open the hopper and ensure there are no foreign objects in the auger or hopper.

2.               Check the ignitor rod for obstructions before ignition.

3.               Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged or connected to a power source.

4.               Add pellets to the hopper. Use the "Initial Ignition" option in settings to set a target temperature of 200°C (392°F) for 30 minutes. This activates the startup sequence—the auger runs, the igniter glows, and the fan supplies air. Once smoke dissipates, the pellets will ignite.

The ignition process takes 5–7 minutes. Do not stop the process until initialization is complete. This ensures proper startup and prevents issues. (Make sure the ASMOKE Essential software is updated to the latest version.)

Firmware & Recipe Updates

The grill automatically downloads firmware updates when connected to the internet, ensuring you receive the latest firmware support and recipe updates.
